Gen. John W. Handy
General John W. Handy is an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall and has over 50 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. General Handy served in the United States Air Force from 1966 – 2005, where he logged more than 5,000 flying hours including more than 300 combat hours in Southeast Asia. He held positions including Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, Deputy Chief of Staff for Installations and Logistics and the Commander of both the United States Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command. While in the position of Commander of Transportation Command, the secretary of defense named him the Distribution Process Owner for the entire DoD where he was charged with improving the global DoD supply chain. General Handy serves or has served on the boards of directors of several companies in the aerospace and defense and logistics industries. General Handy earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from Methodist University and his Master’s degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He also attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and holds an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities from Methodist University.
